There are a lot of claimed-to-be introduction sites. It is chosen because you don't have any distraction to ads and other commercial materials here. On the homepage, there is a plain list of around 20 links to introduce different aspects of China.
The target is for anybody who doesn't anything about China. The first item on the homepage is 'Basic Information about China'. So you know what can be found in this site.
It doesn't try to be an encyclopedia. Each section is just a short introduction. One to two pages. Then it provides links for additional research. The figures it uses are quite up-to-date. It uses 1997 figure rather than some 1998 figure.
The site doesn't seem to have the third level as every link I have met in the second level is to external page. So it's easy to navigate such a simple site. There is a consistent menu at the top on every secondary page for you to jump directly to another category.
Simple and consistent with such a simple structure.
Very good. Nothing to worry about as it's not inside China.
It uses a lot of external links. Frequent bad links can be met. The author is not working hard to verify.
